The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)
The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) is designed to help employers in Atlantic Canada hire foreign workers and international graduates to fill labor gaps in the region. Here are some key points:
1. Regions Covered: The program is available to employers in the Atlantic provinces – New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
2. Employer-Driven: Employers must be designated by the Atlantic province where the job is located, and they do not require a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to hire under this program.
3. Job Offer Requirement: The program requires candidates to have a valid job offer from a designated employer in one of the Atlantic provinces.
4. Eligible Applicants: The program targets skilled workers, international graduates, and intermediate-skilled workers. Applicants must meet education, work experience, and language proficiency requirements.
5. Settlement Plan: Candidates are required to develop a settlement plan with a designated settlement service provider to ease their integration into Canadian life.
6. Provincial Endorsement: After obtaining a job offer, candidates must receive an endorsement from the relevant Atlantic province before applying for permanent residence.
7. Three Categories:
- Atlantic High-Skilled Program (AHSP)
- Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program (AISP)
- Atlantic International Graduate Program (AIGP)
